Steepteam is always looking for talented climbers to help coach or assist our programs.
COACHING POSITIONS:
Skills we are looking for are; the love of climbing, the ability to comfortably sport lead climb 5.10, two years of roped climbing experience, your own gear (harness, shoes, belay device, the team climbs on their own ropes and anchors) and comfortable leadership skills when working with kids. CPR and First Aid training are mandatory for head coaching positions.
For coaching positions we pay on a contract basis and we pay well, based on your experience.
GUIDING OPPORTUNITIES:
Our summer program focuses on developing outdoor climbing and safety skills for local youth. For our outdoor trips we never exceed a 4:1 climber to guide ratio. This means we often have a need in assisting the head coaches with additional supervision. We're always looking for people with outdoor climbing experience to join our outdoor trips.
To entice volunteers to come supervise and climb with us, we will compensate as such; For evening sessions at Gregory Hills we will pay $25 to cover expenses. For full day trips out of town (Cody, Pryors) we will pay $50 for the day.
